QuickBooks Basics

Class participants will learn basic QuickBooks functionality and best -practices as it relates to their businesses from Quickbooks Certified ProAdvisor Anna Burke.  In this three class series, small business owners and entrepreneurs will learn how to successfully:
  • Prepare and interpret financial reports
  • Create accounts
  • Financial data entry processing and more!
Facilitator for the class is Anna Burke.  After retiring from 15 years of CPA duties, Anna Burke has taught hundreds of QuickBooks students across the country since 1999. As a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, accountant, and member of Intuit's Trainer Writer Network, she brings sound advice and the latest tools to each class she instructs.

PTAC - Government Contracting: Orientation

Facilitator will be Kim Bourner.  Kim serves as a technical assistance specialist with the Southwest Michigan Procurement Technical Assistance Center since July 2008. She earned a BBA from Davenport University and a Masters Certificate in Government Contracting from George Washington University. Kim is a member of the statewide PTACs of Michigan and the National Association of PTACs. She enjoys working with PTAC clients to enhance their knowledge of contracting with local, state, and federal government agencies.

QuickBooks Payroll and Inventory

Building from the Intro to QuickBooks workshops, Advanced QuickBooks Payroll will provide participants a comprehensive overview and suggested best practices for payroll schedules. The Payroll module of QuickBooks will teach participants how to:
  • Set up and use Payroll in QuickBooks
  •  Set up Payroll Schedules and Track tax liabilities
  •  Create and print payroll checks
  •  Pay payroll taxes
Advanced QuickBooks Inventory will provide participants a more in-depth review and best practices for maintenance and tracking of inventory. The Inventory module of QuickBooks will teach participants how to:
  • Complete purchase orders for Inventory
  • Track Inventory receipts
  • Manually Adjust Inventory to enter a stock loss or increase
  • Set up and use units of measure
Dave Ravitch, owner of Ravitron in Benton Harbor will facilitate the class.

Jennifer Sipla of IMS and Tony Ventimiglia of CIA Insurance will lead this presentation.  Jennifer Sipla of Insurance management Services, in St Joseph, Michigan, obtained her property and casualty insurance license in 1991 and has worked as a personal lines agent selling and servicing accounts.  
Tony Ventimiglia of Combined Insurance Agency (CIA), St Joseph, Michigan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Eastern Illinois University with a minor in Business Administration.  Tony specializes in employer-sponsored and individual health, life, disability and long term care insurance.
