Our History

Since 1994, Cornerstone Alliance has operated a successful micro-enterprise program, thanks to a strong partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration. For several years Cornerstone Alliance served as Michigan's only SBA Non-Lending Microloan Technical Assistance Program provider. From inception, Cornerstone Alliance has provided technical support, business financing, training, and other services to small business owners and potential owners with an emphasis on low-income, women, and minority entrepreneurs.

The Renaissance Development Fund, an affiliate of Cornerstone Alliance, provides micro loans of $25,000 or less to credit worthy borrowers. The Renaissance Development Fund Micro Loan Fund is targeted at addressing access to credit for those who are traditionally under-served, including low-income persons, persons with disabilities, women and minorities.

Renaissance Development Fund borrowers are directed to the Women's Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance for business consultation, training, and technical assistance.
